  1. Dear Philoposphical,
I saw plenty of your Manhattan brethren around yesterday, standing out in the cold and wind. Most of them were quite busy. Some of them were getting or giving a little conversation between themselves–didn’t want to interrupt. But in the middle of a nearly stuffed Rockefeller Center, I saw one NYPD officer by himself. We nearly stepped on each other trying to move through the crowd.

I was able to get a thank you in to him, on some less-populated staircase. He seemed quite surprised but happy to get it.

You excellent people are doing great work!

    Ann T.

  2. I like the last part of the comment “He seemed quite surprised but happy to get it”. As a police officer myself, it really means a lot when someone says thank you, but in the moment we (some of us) are used to just acting like “were just doing our job”. The reality is we all need appreciation.

    kudos Ann T. Hathaway
